MAKIBEETM

MAKIBEETM is a wrap-type fire-resistant cladding. Surfaced with colored non-woven fabric, it contains heat-resistant rock wool as the refractory inside. MAKIBEETM is also easy to apply: it can be fixed by welding specially designed pins. This ensures reliable quality, workability, and work environments that were difficult to achieve with conventional fire-resistant claddings.

MAKIBEETM is a double-layered product: the base layer is composed of fibers made by melting slag and natural ores at a high temperature, and the surface layer is colored non-woven fabric affixed to the base fibers. The method of making the fibers is the same as rock wool, while the material itself is different: MAKIBEETM employs heat-resistant rock wool developed using NICHIAS manufacturing technology accumulated through consistent research over a long period of time. The material’s highly improved thermal insulation capability has achieved a totally new fire-resistant cladding which is thinner, lighter, and softer than conventional products, making it an industry favorite. *MAKIBEETM is the registered trademark and product manufactured by NICHIAS Corporation.

  • SOFT & FLEXIBLE

MAKIBEETM can be applied to locations where spray-type fire-resistant coating or fire-resistant molded plates are difficult to apply. Since MAKIBEETM can be fixed regardless of the type of rust-proof paint on steel frames and has little influence on such paints, it can be used in diverse construction environments.

  • CLEAN

MAKIBEETM produces less dust during fitting work, allowing other work to be conducted concurrently to shorten the entire construction period. The colored non-woven fabric surfacing MAKIBEETM also suppresses dust while in use, making it very suitable for office buildings equipped with return ducts.

  • ECO-FRIENDLY

Thin and lightweight, MAKIBEETM reduces the energy consumption on manufacturing one square meter of the product. It uses recycled slag as an ingredient to lower environmental load compared with other fire-resistant coating materials.

  • HIGH QUALITY

Strict control of the thickness and density at the manufacturing plant prevents such problems often seen in spray-type fire-resistant coating as shortage of thickness in steel frame flange headers and around high-tension bolts. In addition, electric welding (stud welding) of specially designed pins ensures reliable installation on steel frames and prolonged retention.

  • SAFETY

Electric welding (stud welding) of specially designed pins ensures reliable installation on steel frames, and the flexibility of the material itself reduces the risk of removal and breakage caused by tremors and interlayer displacement during earthquakes. MAKIBEETM has also acquired certification for use on posts and beams by meeting the current fire-resistant structure standards.
